Founder

Jim DeMinno is the founder of The DeMinno CPA Firm, PC with more than three decades of experience in tax and accounting services, and more than a decade of experience in wealth management and financial services. With a passion for the challenge his role presents, he enjoys serving as a trusted guide for his clients, helping them coordinate their financial needs and understand their opportunities. While he provides a vast array of services, he specializes in income tax preparation, IRS representation, Tax Planning, and wealth management.

Jim launched his career working in the tax department of PricewaterhouseCoopers. After years of building his career, he formed his practice because he wanted to provide a comprehensive resource for clients’ financial, accounting, and tax needs. Along with these services, he collaborates with attorneys and other professionals to coordinate estate planning, eldercare, and other needs clients may have. He takes pride in the fact that he has been able to help so many people over the years.

Jim has a diverse educational background that lends to his strong tax, accounting, and wealth management knowledge. He is a Registered Representative with Cetera Financial Specialists, holding Series 6, 7, and 63 securities registrations and life and health insurance licenses. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Rockland County’s sole Certified Tax Resolution Specialist (CTRS). JIm is a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) as recognized by the AICPA.  He is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Quickbooks Proadvisor, and Notary Public. He received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Manhattan College, his Master of Business Administration in Taxation from Iona College, and his Post Master’s Certificate in Finance (PMC) from Iona College.

Beyond his experience and knowledge, Jim has been recognized for his accomplishments and active role in the industry. He was awarded the Cetera Leadership Council Award in 2012 and 2014, is recognized by the American Society for Tax Problem Solvers, and is a member of the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA) and the AICPA. He has also presented financial planning courses for the CFP Program at Marymount College and SUNY.

A lifelong New Yorker, Jim was born and raised in the Bronx and lived in Westchester County for several years. He currently resides in New City, New York with his wife, Randi (consignment shop owner of Bagz 2 Riches, LTD), and their dog, a Havanese named JuJu. In his spare time, he enjoys relaxing at his vacation home in Boca Raton, Florida, reading James Patterson books, officiating college football, exercising, and playing golf.
